Harvey John Smith [Parents] was born on 16 Jul 1943 in Stanthorpe, Queensland. He married Judith Warren Fisher on 19 May 1972 in Christchurch NZ.

Harvey was born in Stanthorpe. He was educated at Ballandean Primary School, and boarded at Slade School in Warwick where he played cricket for the First XI, and Rugby. He won a scholarship to the University of Queensland and graduated B.Comm and B. Econ. Harvey first worked for Golden Fleece Petroleum, before beginning a 30 year career with Mt Isa Mines. This took him and his family around Queensland from Mt Isa, to Townsville, to Brisbane, to Oaky Creek, and finally back to Brisbane in 1988. During his career he held senior management positions with MIM in Accounting, Administration, Audit and Risk Management. Harvey retired in 1998 andestablished a part time Consultancy in Risk Management, while allowing time for Golf, tennis, fishing, Clay Target shooting, and 4WD expeditions.

Judith Warren Fisher [Parents] was born on 2 Jun 1945 in Christchurch, NZ. She married Harvey John Smith on 19 May 1972 in Christchurch NZ.

Judy Smith was born in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1945. She was educated at Fendalton and Ilam Primary Schools, and Rangi-ruru Girls School where she was a Clan Captain, a Prefect and captain of Hockey, Tennis and Lifesaving. She studied at Canterbury University and graduated B.Sc. before beginning a career in Computing. While at University Judy was a member of the NZ Universities Hockey team which toured Australia in 1965 and was awarded a University Hockey Blue. Judy travelled to Europe when she was 21, and then to Australia to workas a computer programmer in Mt Isa, where she met her husband, Harvey. Judy continued her career in computing after the children were all at high school.

  F ii Nicole Mary Smith "Coley, Nic" was born on 16 Dec 1975 in Mount Isa, Queensland. She was christened in Ballandean, Queensland.

Nicole was born in Mount Isa, Queensland in 1975. She was educated at Wulguru Pre School in Townsville, Kenmore South Primary School in Brisbane, Tieri Primary School in Central Queensland, and St Peters Lutheran College in Brisbane where she played hockey for the First XI, and was a member of the Swimming team. She studied Occupational Therapy at the University of Queensland and graduated B.Occ.T. Nicole worked for the Commonwealth Rehab Service in Mackay for 15 months before going to Europe for an extended working holiday. Nicole enjoys Touch football and travelling.
  F iii Kirsten Helen Smith "Kirt, Kirsty" was born on 10 Jul 1978 in Townsville. She was christened in Ballandean, Queensland.

Kirsten was born in Townsville, Queensland. She was educated at Kenmore South Primary School in Brisbane, Tieri Primary School in Central Queensland, and St Peters Lutheran College in Brisbane where she was captain of Hockey, Softball and Swimming. She was an outstanding butterfly swimmer, and was 10th in Australia in her age group at 15. She studied Commerce at the University of Queensland and graduated B. Comm in 1999. While studying, Kirsten worked for a Chartered Accountant, before joining MacQuarie Bank as an Account Executive. Kirsten enjoys Touch football and Netball.

John Warren Drury Fisher [Parents] "Jack" was born in 1909. He died in 1969. He married Joyce Mary Blunden.

John Warren Drury Fisher was born in Christchurch and lived his childhood at Sumner and Fendalton, Christchurch, NZ. He attendedElmwood primary, and Christs College in Christchurch, and was an outstanding left handed sportsman who represented Canterbury in tennis in 1929/1930, played badminton amnd golf, and was also a good skier. He began his career as a clerk in the Bank of New Zealand, before joining his fathers Stockbroking firm, R. Hill Fisher & Sons. This firm collapsed during the 1930's depression, and Jack joined electrical firm Turnbull & Jones, and later spent many years at N.Z. Breweries in charge of the Despatch Department. He married Joyce Blunden, and had 2 girls, Fay and Judy. Emphysema forced him into part time employment in 1959, and he enjoyed some years as a taxi owner/driver before his death in 1969 aged 59 years.

Joyce Mary Blunden [Parents] was born on 19 Jun 1908. She died in 1982. She married John Warren Drury Fisher.

Joyce Blunden was born in Ashburton, and spent her early childhood on the family farm "The Deans" at Loburn near Ashburton, before moving to Rangiora. Joyce was the oldest girl of a family of 9, and took on "maternal" repsonsibilities for her 8 brothers and sisters when her mother died when Joyce was only 16.
Joyce enjoyed riding, hockey and tennis, and attended Rangi-ruru Girls School in Christchurch, before starting a life long career as a Legal Secretary. Joyce married John Warren Drury Fisher and had 2 children, Fay and Judith. Joyce developed lung cancer and bravely fought the cancer for the last 10 years of her life.

  F ii Judith Warren Fisher was born on 2 Jun 1945.

Warren Fisher [Parents] died in 1962. He married Annie van Asch.

Stockbroker in his fathers firm until it collapsed in the Depression. Lived in Christchurch, most of his life at Sumner, Canterbury, NZ. Loved the outdoors, particularly trekking in the South Island, and walking the Cashmere Hills.

Annie van Asch [Parents] was born in 1874 in Barnet, Yorkshire, England. She died in 1943. She married Warren Fisher.

Born in Barnet, Yorkshire, England, travelled to NZ in the "Scottish Prince" aged 4.ttended ChCh Girls High, & became a teacher at the School for Deaf at Sumner. Married Warren Fisher, lived at No 5, The Spur, Sumner, then later moved to Fendalton. Coached Jack at tennis, enjoyed dancing, bridge, theatre, good at sewing.

Harold Ernest Blunden [Parents] was born on 31 Mar 1877 in Bennetts Junction, Canterbury. He died on 5 May 1953 in Riccarton, Christchurch. He married Henrietta Denshire in 1905 in St Stephens Church, Ashburton.

Harold Ernest was born in 1877.
At school at Christs College, Christchurch, NZ in 1894 Harold Blunden was :
Captain First XI Cricket, Member First XV Rugby, Captain Cadets, and Gymnastics Champion.
Harold was an outstanding athlete, rider (polo, hunts etc), a very good dancer and very musical - he could play anything by ear.�ed and won Henrietta Denshire, a lovely young lady who also had spirit and determination, and they eloped, since her parents were against the marriage. Later in their marriage the depression came, the banks closed down on all the farmers with big mortgages, and the farm and home all had to be sold.
Henrietta died of pneumonia in 1923, leaving Harold with nine children aged 3 to 17 years, and Harold never recovered from losing her. He tried to keep things going but he had several children at boarding school and economics were bad after World War 1.
In later life he managed farms, did odd jobs, and lived out his days with his daughter, Joyce, in Christchurch.

Henrietta Denshire [Parents] was born in 1884 in Ashburton. She married Harold Ernest Blunden in 1905 in St Stephens Church, Ashburton.

Henrietta Langton Blunden, nee Denshire, was born in 1884.
Her father, William Banks Denshire, was from England and took up farming in Ashburton where he procured 2000 acres.
Grandma Denshire and her daughters lived the life of the idle rich. They played Bridge and golf and went to the races etc. They frequently travelled backwards and forwards to their relations in England. They spent every winter away from the Christchurch cold, in Nelson at a lovely guesthouse by the river. They were very witty, gay and entertaining and completely selfish.
Grandma said that all the men, who would be suitable husbands, had been killed in the war and it seemed that no man was good enough for her daughters to marry. However, Henrietta, who was a very beautiful young girl with spirit (and was also said to have had a very sweet disposition) was captivated by Harold Blunden, who was very handsome and dashing. He persuaded her to run away with him and so they eloped.

  M i Brian Moore Blunden was born on 19 Sep 1906.

Educated at Christs College, joined the Navy briefly. Enjoyed life, married Ida and had 2 children. Divorced. Later spent many years with Eileen Brown, working in hotels.
  F ii Joyce Mary Blunden was born on 19 Jun 1908. She died in 1982.
  M iii Godfrey Blunden was born on 23 Sep 1910.
  M iv Derrick Blunden was born on 23 Sep 1910.

Married Olive, from UK. Died from diabetes. No children.
  M v John Blunden was born on 8 Nov 1911.

Killed in World War II
  M vi Leo Blunden was born on 8 Nov 1911.
  M vii William (Bill) Blunden was born on 8 May 1913.

Youngest boy of Blunden family. Served in World War II. Married Louisa McFarlane, worked in an office, and after the war had several different businesses including a sheep farm at Amberley, a dairy, mail run, drapery, and later antique and property interests in Motueka, Nelson. No children.
  F viii Margaret (Peg) Blunden was born on 9 Jul 1917.
  F ix Alice Blunden was born on 7 May 1920.

David Pickering.David married Fay Langton Fisher. The marriage ended in divorce.

Fay Langton Fisher [Parents] was born on 23 Feb 1941. She married David Pickering. The marriage ended in divorce.

Fay was born in Christchurch, NZ, and was educated at Fendalton and Ilam Primary Schools, and Rangi-ruru Girls School. On leaving school Fay studied shorthand and typing and was a secretary for many years. She travelled overseas in her twenties, and returned to live in Karori, Wellington, where she met and married David Pickering and had 3 sons, Andrew, Matthew and Simon. Simon died of Leukaemia when he was 18 years old. Fay moved to Auckland in 1996, where she worked as a personal assistant to elderly clients.

  M iii Simon Pickering was born on 8 Aug 1977. He died in 1996.

Leo Blunden [Parents] was born on 8 Nov 1911. He married Jean.

Farmer. Drew "Falomai Farm" at The Levels, Pleasant Point after the war. Developed it into an excellent shhep property.

Jean.Jean married Leo Blunden.

Arthur John Smith was born about 1916. He died on 26 May 1995 in Brisbane. He married Amy Mary Clara Ruegg.

Arthur Smith was known as "Chub", and was born and raised in the Ballandean area of S.E.Queensland. Chub attended Slade secondary school at Warwick where he excelled academically and on the sporting field. He and his brother, Noel, later became leading grape growers in the Ballandean district, and operated under the company started by their father, R,N. Smith & Sons. Chub was President of the Ballandean Clay Target Shooting Club for 25 years, and was also involved in local community affairs.

Amy Mary Clara Ruegg was born on 17 Jan 1917. She died on 22 Jul 2000 in Brisbane. She married Arthur John Smith.

Amy Mary Clara Ruegg was born at Redcliff near Brisbane, and spent most of her life in the Ballandean area of S.E. Queensland. She was educated at the Ballandean School, and was a good tennis player. She married Arthur ("Chub") Smith, and had 3 children, Harvey, Graham and Helen. Amy and Chub moved to Brisbane on selling their farm in 1990, and lived in Chapel Hill, Brisbane. When Chub died in 1995 Amy moved to Sinnamon Village where she lived until her death in 2000.

Martin John Smith [Parents] "Marty" was born on 30 Nov 1973 in Mount Isa, Queensland. He was christened in Ballandean, Queensland. He married Wendy Stephan on 1 Oct 2000 in Palm Meadows, Gold Coast.

Martin was born in Mount Isa, Queensland. He was educated at Wulguru Primary School in Townsville, Kenmore South Primary School in Brisbane, Tieri Primary School in Central Queensland, and boarded at St Peters Lutheran College in Brisbane where he played cricket for the First XI, and Soccer for the first XI. Martin enjoys Golf in his spare time. He studied at the University of Queensland and graduated B.Comm and LL.B, and achieved an award for obtaining High Distinctions in all subjects of the national CPA examinations. Martin worked briefly for QIDC, before beginning a career with Mt Isa Mines in Brisbane and then moving to Mt Isa in 2000 to take up a position as Financial Accountant. Martin married Wendy Stephan on October 1 2000.

Wendy Stephan was born on 11 Mar 1974. She married Martin John Smith on 1 Oct 2000 in Palm Meadows, Gold Coast.

Wendy Stephan was born in Aratula, near Cunninghams Gap in South East Queensland. She attended QUT in Brisbane and graduated B.Comm. before joining Mt Isa Mines Ltd in Brisbane, and later working for MIM subsidiaries in Argentina, and Cloncurry near Mt Isa. Wendy is an excellent Vigoro and Tennis player.


Donald John Sanderson.Donald married Helen Rosalie Smith.

Don Sanderson spent his childhood in Sandgate, Brisbane. He has an elder sister, Pamela, and younger brother, Stuart. Don attended Brisbane Grammar School, and is an outstanding sportsman, playing tennis and Squash and Pennants Golf. He graduated B.Comm. from the University of Queensland, and had a successful career in Information Technology.

Helen Rosalie Smith [Parents].Helen married Donald John Sanderson.

Helen was educated at Ballandean Primary School, and St Katherines Girls School in Warwick, and later graduated with an Arts Diploma from Queensland Institute of Technology. Helen is a leading Queensland Artist, and has excelled in painting, quiltmaking, fibre art, and paper making, and has had a number of solo and group exhibitions.

Christopher was educated at Fig Tree Pocket State School, and Brisbane Grammar School. He graduated B.Sc. from University of Queensland in 2000.
  F ii Jacelyn Amy Sanderson was born on 26 Sep 1982.

Jacelyn was educated at Fig Tree Pocket State School, and Brisbane Girls Grammar School. She is studying for a B.A. at the University of Queensland in 2001.

Graham Smith [Parents] was born in 1946. He married Jenny Twist.

Graham Smith was born in Stanthorpe, Queensland, and was educated at Ballandean Primary School, Slade School, Warwick and the University of Queensland, Brisbane, where he graduated B.Comm. Graham won a Rotary Scholarship to Louisiana State University, and worked for MIM for a short time before moving to Memphis, USA, and working for 25 years for Federal Express Ltd where he became a Vice President. Graham married Jenny Twist and has 2 daughters, Madeline and Jillian.

Jenny Twist.Jenny married Graham Smith.
